BABCNE: A updated on the stock market and an evening of wine & fun
Venue: The British Consulate-General, Cambridge
Speaker: Paul Malagrifa, CSW, CWE, Master of Wine
Description: Come and join us for an evening of fine wine, dinning and fun, tasting and learning about the far flung wines of the Commonwealth!

Wines of the Commonwealth…

If the Royal Navy was fueled by its rum, then aristocratic gentry colonizing the New World were fueled by fine wine. As British Sovereignty expanded across the globe, so too did fine wine. In many cases, the wines produced in these far-removed colonies rivaled some of the best wines in Europe.

Today, the Southern Hemisphere, as it is colloquially termed produces a significant amount of truly wonderful wine. In many cases the wines offer both high quality and excellent value. At our “Wines of the Commonwealth” event we will enjoy six wines that represent some of the best that the Southern Hemisphere has to offer. First up will be the exotic and alluring wines of New Zealand, featuring Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir. Next we will follow our noses to Australia where we will sample magnificent Chardonnay and Shiraz. We will finish our journey in South Africa with the unique Pinotage and classically structured Cabernet Sauvignon.

The wine tasting will be preceeded by a finanical seminar beginning at 5pm

At this seminar Columbia Funds will address the Small and Mid Cap Growth Equity Markets while Alliance Bernstein will give an overview of the stock market and their take on when the Financial issues will recover from this Credit debacle.
