A record number of delegates, representing almost all the BABC's 24 chapters throughout the US, UK and Canada, came together for the BABC's Annual Transatlantic Business Conference, The Impact of Innovation, held in San Francisco from May 11-13, 2011.
More than 50 leading Chief Executives, opinion-formers and industry experts participated as speakers and panellists in the discussions, which covered the impact of innovation on a broad range of sectors and issues, including energy and green technology, biotechnology, social media, talent recruitment and retention, cloud computing, profitability, societal change, transportation, the law and the financing of innovation.
Lord Green of Huntspierpoint, UK Minister of State for Trade and Industry (and immediate-past Chairman of HSBC) delivered a keynote address to a sell-out audience over lunch on May 12; and presided over the BritWeek UKTI Business Innovation Awards Gala Dinner on the same evening.
The Conference was held at the classic Fairmont Hotel on Nob Hill in San Francisco, and also attracted a broad range of senior business executives from the business communities of San Francisco and Silicon Valley.
